Specialised Onco Nurses

A cancer diagnosis changes everything. Our specialised oncology nurses are with you from that first difficult moment. through every infusion, every difficult day, and every small victory. Expert care with genuine compassion, every single day.

Who are our oncology nurses?

Our oncology nursing team is specially trained nurses who have devoted their careers to providing expert cancer care. They are not general ward nurses assigned to an oncology unit; they are cancer care specialists with advanced training, years of experience, and understanding of what patients with cancer and their families go through.

At KD Cancer Centre, our nurses are integral members of the multidisciplinary team, participating in tumour board discussions, coordinating care, and serving as your most consistent point of support throughout treatment.

What our oncology nurses do for you

Our oncology nurses provide a comprehensive range of specialised services

Chemotherapy and IV therapy administration

Safe, skilled administration of chemotherapy and other intravenous treatments. Our nurses are trained to monitor for reactions, manage side effects in real time, and ensure your comfort throughout each infusion session.

Patient and family education

Clear, plain-language guidance on your diagnosis, medications, side effects to watch for, and how to look after yourself at home between appointments. We explain things in a way that makes sense, and we always have time for your questions. We provide educational materials in Hindi, Gujarati, and English.

Emotional and psychological support

A cancer diagnosis affects the whole family. Our nurses are trained to recognise signs of distress, provide compassionate listening, and connect patients and families with our psycho-oncology team when needed. Supporting your mental well-being is as important to us as your physical care.

Palliative and supportive care

For patients requiring comfort-focused care, our nurses provide compassionate symptom relief, dignity-centred support, and guidance for families navigating this difficult phase. Palliative care is about living as well as possible; it can begin alongside curative treatment.

Wound and stoma care

Specialised post-operative wound assessment, dressing, and stoma care for patients recovering from cancer surgery. We provide hands-on training for patients and caregivers to manage their care confidently at home.

Port and catheter care

Management and maintenance of central venous access devices, including PICC lines, ports, and Hickman catheters used for chemotherapy administration.

Care coordination

Your oncology nurse is your care coordinator, ensuring smooth communication between your oncologist, surgeon, radiation team, nutritionist, and other specialists. Nothing falls through the gaps.

Support for families and caregivers

In India, family members are often the primary caregivers during cancer treatment. We recognise and support this. Our nursing team provides
